Attorney Raul Armando Ray

Raul Ray, is a practicing attorney and the founding member of the Law Offices of Raul Ray. Founded in 1991, the law firm represents individuals and families in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout California. Mr. Ray was born and raised in San Jose, California but has family ties to Central and South America. His mother was born in Panama and his grandmother was born in Colombia.

Mr. Ray initially practice personal injury law for over 10 years. For the past 28 years, he has focused primarily on Immigration Law and has represented clients from over 88 countries. During that time, he has successfully represented clients in cases of involving Deportation, Same Sex Couples-LGBT, DACA, U visas, VAWA, Fiancée visas, Spouse visas, Family petitions, Adjustment applications, Naturalization applications, Waivers for criminal convictions, unlawful presence, and fraud and misrepresentation.

Mr. Ray received the 2024 Santa Clara County St. Thomas Society Award for his Volunteer work in immigration law. He has served as a volunteer immigration attorney for the immigration court in San Francisco, at both the Santa Clara University’s East San Jose Community Law Center and the later renamed Katharine and George Alexander Community Law Center and the Mexican Consulate in San Jose. Mr. Ray currently serve as a volunteer immigration attorney at the St. Leo Marketplace Immigration Clinic held every Thursday.  Mr. Ray has also spoken about immigration issues at various community and church events in the Bay Area and has written articles for the Spanish News Paper, El Observador.

Mr. Ray attended San Jose State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1982. He then went on to Santa Clara University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctorate (JD) in 1985.

Currently, Mr. Ray is a member of the American immigration Lawyers Association, Santa Clara and northern California Chapters and the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers.
